There are different types of skin cancer and they show through different signs and symptoms.
Types of skin cancer
This type of skin cancer is caused by damage from sun’s rays. They are found on lips, scalp, hands and neck. They look like warts and are elevated. This type of skin cancer is seen through different signs.
You get red or pinkish scaly patches, sometimes covered in blood, on areas of the skin that are mostly exposed to sun.
Lesions that can develop into the serious squamous cell carcinoma.
Crusts that are mostly seen on scalp, ear, back of hand, lower lips and at the back of hands. The colors vary from reddish lesions to brown and the signs vary from scaly patches to lesions.
Basal Cell Carcinoma
These show uncontrolled growth and lesions in the outermost layer of the epidermis. They look like sores that have not healed and caused by sun exposure that are intense and at a regular frequency.
Two features are seen in the tumor, at least and this type often looks like noncancerous condition. They therefore often are seen like the skin problems named psoriasis or other similar lesions.
Often these are open sores. The crusts often bleed and seldom heal. Non healing sore is therefore a cause of concern.
Pink and waxy bumps following injury should be checked.
Rarely metastasizes and mostly seen in recipient of organs.
Mostly found in people who have this type of cancer in family.
Melanoma is asymmetrical with irregular border and variation of color – black, pink and brown.
Irregular shaped moles
A typical moles are seen that are not in a regular shape. Mostly seen on lower back and upper back.
Size of mole
Enlargement of a mole that was already there may bring concern. These moles have raised center and can cause itching, bleeding, swelling, pain and ulceration.
This is the most dangerous form of cancer and develops when the skin is damaged due to unrepaired DNA. These can be seen when there is exposure to ultraviolet rays and radiation.
These triggers mutation or genetic defects that form tumors rapidly.
Moles or spots on skin are the first look of this skin cancer. One is at more risk when one has a lot of moles all over the body. They are atypical and asymmetrical too.
The borders of these moles that are malignant should not have a proper border line. The edges are notched or ragged.
Shades of moles
Colors of these moles that are malignant are mostly in different colors. They can be a tan color or different shades of brown. They can also be black, white, blue and red.
Diameter of moles
Diameters of these moles are larger than the benign moles. These may initially look smaller but soon grows larger in size and diameter.
Elevation of moles
Evolving moles that looks different at days go by should be a cause of concern. The size, shape and elevation all changes when it is malignant. The person will also experience pain, bleeding and itching.
Find out if you have any such symptoms. Get them diagnosed by your physician so that you can start its treatment as soon as possible. Make sure that you take proper prevention from sun exposure and from radiation that are harmful to avoid such growths.
